In response to state audits and general network security concerns, the WNYRIC will provide customized network security practices for the district. This will include access to a database of audit questions and answers that have been used in previous audits. These services may add to, replace, or supplement the district's current operations. Service areas may include network security topics such as vulnerability assessment, security incident management, system log monitoring, data leakage prevention, network access control, asset classification and control, user activity monitoring, and workstation patch management.

Connectivity to the WNYRIC WAN is required for most services. In response to state audits and general network security concerns, the WNYRIC will provide customized network security practices for the district. These services may add to, replace, or supplement the district's current operations. Service areas may include network security topics such as vulnerability assessment, security incident management, system log monitoring, data leakage prevention, network access control, asset classification and control, user activity monitoring, and workstation patch management.

The WNYRIC utilizes cost effective best practices determined by research from Gartner and Info Tech that allows our experienced and trained technical staff to perform robust testing and piloting on the WNYRIC Networkin the areas of; security, infrastructure engineering and design, energy management, virtualization strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity, effective monitoring and pro-active analysis customized for the K-12 educationalenvironment. By following these principles we are able to be a District advocate for vendor contract issues and aggressively negotiate contract terms.
