The following programs are designed for students whose needs can best be met in a self-contained setting. The exceptional education programs provide instruction for at least 60% of the school day to students grouped according to need rather than by disability category. Related services may be requested as needed to supplement each classroom program.
Class size options are available in exceptional education excellence programs and exceptional education excellence core programs depending on student need. The excellence program classrooms provide instruction consistent with the Common Core Learning Standards and serve students exhibiting normal to mildly limited intellectual abilities. Excellence core classrooms provide instruction focused on achieving the Common Core Learning Standards through alternate grade level indicators and serve students exhibiting mild to severely limited intellectual abilities.
